Circus performances can be incredibly suspenseful for the crowds, especially when the stakes are high. Perhaps that’s why Karl Wallenda, a circus legend, often opted to perform without a safety net – for the mere showmanship.

Unfortunately, this time when he walked the wire, he lost his balance and fell 121 feet to the ground. He was 73 when he tragically lost his life, but at least he was doing what he loved.
