The Challenger Explosion

Astronauts are some of the luckiest people on the planet because they get to go into outer Space and view the Earth from a distance that no one else can. However, their job also comes with a lot of risks.

The astronauts at NASA knew that the Challenger space shuttle had landed nine times successfully and they thought that it would do the same the tenth time too. However, in 1986 it made its way into space, but tragically broke apart within 73 seconds, taking the lives of the five astronauts as well as two payload specialists on board the shuttle.
