Spike Lee
His films aside, director Spike Lee hasn’t necessarily gotten the greatest publicity over the years. Threads on Reddit are full of stories from disgruntled fans who say he visited their college to give a speech, but that it wound up being half-hearted and uninsightful.
One fan from a small Southern university went so far as to say Lee insulted the audience, calling them “rednecks” and “racists.” Another said he cut his speech short by 40 minutes and was rude and cold to those who asked questions.
Oh, and let’s not forget Lee’s 2019 Oscars stint, when he stormed out of the ceremony in a huff after BlacKkKlansman failed to win the award for Best Picture. Though Lee had already won the award for Best Director for the same film, AP reporter Andrew Dalton said the director stood up in the middle of the speeches and angrily waved his arms while trying to exit the theater.
