Lena Dunham, born May 13, 1986, is an American actress, screenwriter, director and producer. She is known as the creator, writer and star of HBO’s Girls television series, for which she received multiple Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe Awards.

After the launch of the female comedy-drama Girls in 2011, Lena Dunham suddenly became the center of attention. The actress used her newfound popularity to help give a voice to women’s rights and provide a platform for people who wanted their views to be heard. It sparked some controversy, but it never stopped her relationship with musician Jack Antonoff. Unfortunately, after five years together, the two decided to go their separate ways, albeit amicably. Dunham has been riding solo ever since.
