Academia Is Very Different
In Korea, academia is taken very seriously. In most universities, first-year students spend at least two and a half days in orientation getting to know the teachers and other students.
They then have to study the institution’s past, and mentees from higher year levels are available to help them out. But this might also be a pretext for upperclassmen to throw a bash for freshmen and show them a good time at college.
