Boomslang Snake
The boomslang is a large, poisonous tree snake, local to Sub-Saharan Africa. The average adult snake grows up to five feet, and it has characteristically huge eyes and a head shaped like an egg. The Boomslang has potent poison which it delivers to victims through fangs located at the back of its jaw. The snake venom primarily contains a hemotoxin, causing the victim to bleed inside and out. It tends to act slowly, with the symptoms only appearing several hours after the bite. Fun fact for Harry Potter fans, boomslang skin is used as one of the ingredients in the Polyjuice potion.
