Dumbo’s Drinking Problem
Sometimes Disney is to blame for us believing in things that are not real. We’re not talking about fairy godmothers or flying carpets here, those kinds of things are obvious.
But for example, look at how the elephants drink in Dumbo. No wonder we thought elephants really slurped water through their trunks like some built in straws.
Elephants’ trunks are highly useful in that they don’t only smell things but can also be used to gather things like food. And when it comes to drinking, elephants suck up water with their trunks, to then pour it into their mouths.
