The Sharp Spindle
Sleeping Beauty was made back in 1959, so it’s pretty impressive the story and animation hold up at all. But as much as we love this Disney classic, there is one pretty major flaw here.
We cannot believe that more people haven’t pointed it out over the years. The entire premise of the story is that Aurora will fall into a deep slumber if she ever pricks her finger on a spindle from a spinning wheel (which she of course does).
This is due to the curse of a witch and the help of a fairy. But the thing is, spindles aren’t sharp…so how was her finger pricked when touching it?
