Artificially Created Islands

The artificial man-made islands are clearly visible when you are landing or taking off in an airplane from Dubai. One of the most famous archipelagos in the city that is man made is that of the Palm Islands. The construction of these islands required 94 million cubic meters of sand to be relocated from the desert and deep sea beds and 5.5 million cubic meters of rock from 16 different quarries.
