37 Seconds Is A Long Time
In one of the earlier scenes of the movie, Rose is convinced by Jack to get off the ledge – right when she slips and has only Jack to hold onto while she dangles above the water. Holding up a person for a full 37 seconds isn’t as easy as it might look, so in reality, this would probably have ended in disaster for Rose.
She probably wasn’t into any grueling labor, being a rich person in the 1910s, her dress would’ve made it harder, and she was dangling – which would have made it close to impossible to hold on to her for that long. But if she died then, what would the movie be about, really?
