There Weren’t Enough Flashlights
As the disaster unfolds in the movie, we see crew members using flashlights as they’re loading people onto the lifeboats and lowering them down to the water. But in real life, there were actually only a few flashlights available, as they weren’t part of the equipment on board the ship.
And the few flashlights that they did have belonged to some lucky passengers who happened to have brought them along, and weren’t in the hands of the crew.
