Evan’s parents felt they needed to do something as soon as possible before time ran out and Evan reached the age where dental treatment would no longer be free for him.
However, there was one major problem standing in the way. In New Zealand, the cost of basic dental treatment is usually covered by the government when the patient is under 18, but Evan’s problem was so severe that they needed to pay for the advanced treatment themselves.
