Jonestown Massacre
On November 18, 1978, a religious leader, Jim Jones, convinced nearly 1,000 members of his People’s Temple cult in Guyana to commit suicide.
This group included 200 children and they killed themselves by cyanide poisoning. This is supposedly the largest mass suicide in history.
