This person you see in the picture is Budd Dwyer. He was the Treasurer of Pennsylvania in the 1980s.
After serving in the Pennsylvania State Senate, on January 22, 1987, Dwyer requested a news conference in Harrisburg.
He went on to shoot himself in front of everyone present. Before pulling the trigger, he had already announced, “Please, please leave the room if this will…if this will affect you.”Dwyer’s shocking suicide was broadcast live on television.
