“The Cincinnati Cobra” Ezzard Charles has the distinction of being rated as one of the top fighters of all time in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions. There are many who even argue that he is the greatest light heavyweight to ever compete.
Charles holds victories over a good number of fellow Hall of Fame fighters, including Archie Moore, Jimmy Bivins, Jersey Joe Walcott, Joey Maxim and—the cherry on top—Joe Louis. Ezzard Charles held 52 knockouts in 119 matches and he won 94 of these matches, while only one of them ended in a draw.
