Joe Frazier
Smokin’ Joe Frazier is best known for defeating Muhammad Ali in 1971’s “Fight of the Century.” But he also strung together many other impressive wins over Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena and Jimmy Ellis.
Frazier would hold the heavyweight championship until facing a young, power-punching superstar named George Foreman, who knocked him out in the 1973 The Ring Fight of the Year. He would never regain the title, but would engage in two more notable fights—both losses—against Ali, including the famed “Thrilla in Manila.”
