Average net price per year: $14,256

Median earnings six years after graduation: $40,400

Wichita State University’s tuition costs are a little below average, and the median salary six years after graduation is actually pretty decent. However, many former WSU Shockers find the final size of their student debt to be — you guessed it — a shocker. The average debt over four years is $32,636. Graduates’ solid salary does seem to help, though, as the loan default rate is just 8.5%. “The school does not prepare students to be excellent in the workforce,” a junior says. “Everyone gets by with easy grades — little to no training in professional ethical practices.”
