Wagons East

Wagons East was the last film John Candy worked on before he passed away from a heart attack. He starred alongside Richard Lewis in this Western adventure comedy released on August 26, 1994. The movie did poorly at the box office and received a zero percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was apparent that Wagons East was influenced by Mel Brooks’ Western comedies, but it didn’t come close to the success of those. Jonathan Rosenbaum of the Chicago Reader said, “A stridently unfunny western comedy that is equally lame in its writing and direction.”
