Oxygen Masks On The Plane
You’ve probably heard one conspiracy theory or another about oxygen masks and what their “real” function is. But the truth is, oxygen masks really do supply oxygen, and can do so for up to 15 minutes.
And while 15 minutes may not sound like a whole lot, it should be enough time for the pilot to descend to a lower altitude, equalize cabin pressure and allow passengers to breathe safely again.
