It’s not only his work in critically acclaimed movies that has landed Tom Cruise in the news. Over the years, the actor has also fallen victim to the harsh criticism of others.
This comes thanks to his alleged Scientology-related outbursts, overly-controlling demeanor, and heated rants about other celebrities. In 2005, Cruise came under fire after calling fellow actress Brooke Shields “irresponsible” for taking prescription medication intended to help with her debilitating postpartum depression.
He even suggested during his fiery Today show tirade that it was because of the medication that Shield’s career hadn’t gone anywhere in recent years. Unsurprisingly, Cruise’s remarks deeply upset his female fans.
