Mother Gothel Is the Evil Queen
It’s likely that Disney just relies on the same “crazy old hag” stereotype when coming up with evil stepmoms. But, some people think that Mother Gothel from Tangled and the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are the same person. Here’s the supporting evidence — both kingdoms look similar, both women use a dagger, both are obsessed with perpetual youth, and they look quite alike. So, perhaps the Evil Queen faked her own death and went on to hold Rapunzel captive.
