A Green Statue Of Liberty

via

When Rose finally arrives in New York after having survived the catastrophe, we see her looking up at the beautiful Statue of Liberty, which appears to be green with a golden flame. This would make perfect sense today, but back in 1912 – not so much.

Back then, the statue wasn’t really green, but closer to its original brown color that it came in. It took over 35 years for the statue to change its color to what it looks like today. The golden flame was also a late addition – it was only put up in 1986 for the statue’s 100th anniversary, while the original flame was lit from within.
