James Dalton Highway, Alaska

via

Despite looking benign on the surface, the James Dalton Highway in Alaska is one of the world’s most dangerous roads. It is often filled with potholes, has a lot of windblown debris, and runs through the middle of nowhere. Often known as the loneliest road in the world, it stretches for 414 kilometers and while there are some intersections where there is civilization, most of it passes through long stretches of untouched scenery.
