Jimmy McLarnin didn’t let his nickname fool you. Despite being called the “Baby-Faced Assassin,” McLarnin had great power in both hands, even though you wouldn’t know it by his record.
McLarnin engaged in a three-fight series with fellow legendary welterweight Barney Ross, and despite losing two of three, accounted for himself very well. He closed his career by defeating fellow legend Tony Canzoneri and Lou Ambers. McLarnin is widely considered a top-five all-time welterweight.
